We’ll be dancing at Light Box and providing FREE HOUSING for all via Jean’s Victorian Bed & Breakfast. Jam Detroit runs Friday evening through Sunday afternoon–see schedule— and there are options to participate in portions though we hope you participate the whole weekend. Along with the usual great breakfasts, lunch and snacks, we plan to offer FREE CHILDCARE during classes and daytime/early evening jam times to make it easier for parents and caregivers to attend and fully participate.

AND…We’re delighted that VIVEK PATEL out of Toronto will be our guest teacher this year! After 15 years Vivek still learns something new every time he dances.  Dance deeply affects all aspects of his being – physical, mental, emotional and Spiritual. As a martial artist who has been teaching and practicing the art of Ninjutsu for over 30 years, he deeply integrates martial arts principles into his dancing. The overlap between the two arts is astonishingly useful. “My dancing has made me a better martial artist, and the martial arts has made me a better dancer.” Vivek’s classes are thoughtful, fun and layered, with time for integrative practice. He cares deeply about creating safe and consensual spaces. “I love exploring the subtleties and millimeters of contact improv. I seek for my dancing to reflect my life and for my life to reflect my dance.”
